Job summary

River Court Care Home in Watford, Hertfordshire, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain clean, safe and welcoming spaces and to support laundry duties. This hands-on role requires attention to detail and a commitment to high standards, contributing to residents' comfort and daily wellbeing.

The position is part-time (19 hours per week) with a rate of £13.45–£13.95 per hour, plus paid DBS, pension, uniform, and 5.6 weeks’ annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing with clear labelling.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
