Job summary

Avery Healthcare's Frognal House Care Home in Sidcup, Kent is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry across the home. You will follow our standard operating procedures and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for residents and colleagues.

The role requires good health and safety knowledge, experience with laundry in a public setting, compassion, and flexibility to cover multiple duties on short notice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping for residents.
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space is respected.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
