Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Sidcup, Kent is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join Frognal House Care Home. You will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry, following our operating procedures to deliver hotel‑style service in a care home.

The role requires compassion, reliability and a willingness to adapt to a range of duties at short notice, with training and DBS disclosure provided by Avery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring areas are well presented.
• Ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are respected.
• Maintain hotel service standards in housekeeping and laundry.

About The Role

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.


• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
