Job summary

Richmond Villages Letcombe Regis in Oxfordshire is hiring a full-time housekeeper to maintain resident facilities, public areas and bedrooms to the highest cleaning standards. The role requires experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning, basic infection control knowledge, COSHH compliance and a friendly, team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residents' care home facilities, public areas and individual properties to high cleaning standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, carpet shampooers).
• Empty bins, sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors.
• Clean carpets, upholstery, woodwork, windows and sills.
• Wash, dry and iron residents' clothing and communal laundry.
• Report safety hazards and ensure health and safety compliance.

Salary: £12.90 per hour, with paid breaks and excellent Bupa benefits.

Permanent 40 hours per week to include alternative weekends.

Shift Pattern

Full-time: 5 out of 7 days per week

Weekdays: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

You'll help us make health happen by:

• Ensuring that our residents' care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards
• Operating vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers
• Emptying bins regularly
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors
• Cleaning carpets and upholstery and washing woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
• Washing, drying and ironing residents clothing, bedding and communal laundry, including for our on-site care home residents
• Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSSH are adhered to at all times.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You will ideally bring experience from a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, along with a basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards. As someone who is friendly and approachable, you will forge enduring professional relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families. Recognizing the importance of a safe working environment, you possess a meticulous attention to detail and take pride in your work. Equipped with strong communication skills, you are adept at collaborating as part of a team, across various functions and services.
