Job summary

Appleton Lodge Care Home in Stockport is seeking a proactive Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents. You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, assist with laundry duties and follow infection control and health and safety procedures to uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation throughout the home.

The role is part-time, contracted to 32 hours per week, with paid Enhanced DBS, uniform provided and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach to work
• Good attention to detail and organisation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential
• Needs to be fully flexible over 7 days

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing

About Appleton Lodge Care Home

Our 30 bedded home provides residential and residential dementia care. Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.
You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
