Job summary

Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. The role is varied, with a focus on hygiene, presentation and resident dignity.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, follow infection control procedures, and assist with laundry tasks including washing, drying and ironing. Alternate weekends apply with two shift options.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping or care environments is welcomed but not essential.
• A positive, reliable attitude with good organisational skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Full & Part time hours available
• Contracted to 16.5-32.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends, and the shift patterns are Full time 8am-3pm & 11am-6pm worked over 5 days per week, Part time 8am-2pm & 11am-6pm.
