Job summary

Vita Student Exeter is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join our next-level residential services. The role involves providing a personalised cleaning service for student studios, maintaining a clean, healthy and presentable environment, and following scheduled duties across a busy, 24/7 site.

You will dust, sweep, vacuum, and sanitise surfaces, make beds and ensure waste and COSHH safety standards are upheld. Strong communication and tech-savviness are valued in this dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Experience in large, multi-room residence facilities such as accommodation buildings, hotels or hospitals.
• Technologically astute with familiarity of systems/software used to run operations.
• Good understanding of COSHH regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, personalised room cleaning to students by ensuring their studios are maintained to a clean, healthy & presentable standard.
• Operate according to designated schedules, performing dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and bed making.
• Maintain facilities to a premium standard and report issues to management as needed.
• Record cleaning activities and stock usage in company systems when applicable.

Hourly Rate:

£13.45 plus generous benefits (please see below).

Contract:

Permanent, part-time. A minimum commitment of 14 hours per week

Required Days of Work:

Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Working Hours:

Between 10am-6pm

Overtime:

We offer style, luxury & comfort to our residents, surrounded by premium amenities and a vibrant city life. We’re expanding our housekeeping team with the appoint of an experienced Housekeeper to deliver a luxury, home-from-home cleaning service for our residents’ studio apartments whilst ensuring our premium site & facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Our Housekeepers

Provide an exceptional, personalised room cleaning service to students by ensuring their studios are maintained to a clean, healthy & presentable standard. Working towards designated schedules, cleaning duties include but are not exclusive to; dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, anti-bacterial cleaning of surfaces and making beds.

• Ensure our facilities are being looked after respectfully by students & guests.
• Maintain the upkeep of our premium site & facilities.
• Be on hand, delivering solutions to issues or challenges that may arise.
• Be a point of contact for any potential incident or emergency that may occur onsite.
• Maintain waste management areas adhering to health & safety regulations, ensuring potential hazards are addressed / cleaned / tidied / reorganised as required.
• Using a smart phone / tablet, record & manage each studio clean: each studio clean is to be photographed prior to, and at the end of each clean.
• Report any concerning behaviour of students that could be an indication of welfare concern.
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and communicate needs to the Assistant Residence Manager or Residence Manager. Assist in ordering stock to maintain appropriate inventory.
• Housekeepers must understand and follow "Control of Substances Hazardous to Health” (COSHH) regulations to protect their health and safety when using cleaning chemicals.

• Flexibility: Our facilities are open to residents 24 hours a day, 356 days a year including all bank holidays, festive & religious breaks. Where festive and religious celebrations require time off, we will always try to accommodate, however flexibility from our Customer Service Assistants is imperative to be available as required to ensure continuous service to residents.
