Kiwi House Care Home in Alvaston, Derby, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant on a zero-hours contract. You will clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and common areas, support laundry tasks, and uphold infection control standards to ensure a welcoming, hygienic environment for residents and staff.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or care environment preferred.
• Ability to maintain high hygiene standards and presentation.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.

Responsabilités

• Support laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing.

Kiwi House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Alvaston, Derby. Overlooking Kiwi Park, with six beautifully designed care suites and excellent lifestyle facilities, we provide compassionate, person centred care that enables residents to live fulfilling lives.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
