Kiwi House Care Home in Derby seeks a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and support laundry services. You will help ensure residents’ rooms and communal areas meet high hygiene and presentation standards, with careful handling of clothing and labelled garments.

The role emphasises teamwork, reliability and attention to detail in a hands-on setting that promotes dignity and daily wellbeing for residents.

Kiwi House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Alvaston, Derby. Overlooking Kiwi Park, with six beautifully designed care suites and excellent lifestyle facilities, we provide compassionate, person centred care that enables residents to live fulfilling lives.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
