Job summary

Maples Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant in Bexleyheath. The role involves cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and common areas, and supporting laundry tasks to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

The position is contracted to 16–37.5 hours per week, paying £12.71 per hour. DBS check, pension and uniform are provided, with 5.6 weeks of annual leave for full-time equivalent.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothes correctly.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where residents feel respected and supported.

Maples Care Home is a purpose-built nursing home in Bexleyheath, set over three floors and designed to combine modern facilities with a warm, homely atmosphere. The home offers 75 spacious ensuite bedrooms where residents are encouraged to personalise their space, creating a comfortable and supportive environment.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 16 - 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
