Job summary

Oakland Care is looking for a caring, reliable Housekeeper to join our Harpenden care home. We value kindness, cleanliness, and a supportive team culture that makes residents feel at home.

You will maintain high standards of cleanliness in residents’ rooms and communal areas, handle daily cleaning and deep-clean schedules, manage laundry promptly, and support infection control. 40 hours per week, Days shifts, Permanent contract, £13.20 per hour.

Qualifications

• A positive, can-do attitude.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous housekeeping experience (care home experience is a bonus but not essential).
• A warm and respectful approach when working in residents’ personal spaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across residents’ rooms and communal areas throughout the home.
• Carrying out daily cleaning routines and deep-clean schedules.
• Ensuring laundry is washed, dried, and returned promptly.
• Supporting infection control procedures.
• Working as part of a friendly team that puts residents’ wellbeing first.
