Job summary

Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh is seeking a part-time Housekeeper to carry out duties across the hospital, 22.5 hours per week, 3 shifts during the week and one weekend shift per month. This is a temporary fixed-term position for up to 6 months.

You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, follow infection control policies, and work with clinical staff. Essential: customer facing experience, housekeeping background, ability to work unsupervised, good communication, and willingness

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer facing environment.
• Previous housekeeping experience.
• Experience working unsupervised and on own initiative.
• A positive and flexible approach to customer service.
• Good communication skills.
• Willing and able to complete mandatory COSHH, Manual Handling, Infection Control, food hygiene and Health & Safety training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital.
• Complete cleaning schedules and ensure rooms and public areas are ready for immediate occupation.
• Report concerns to the Senior Housekeeper.
• Liaise with clinical staff about daily needs.
• Maintain equipment and report faults or shortages.
• Comply with Health and Safety at Work regulations including COSHH.

Job description

Spire Murrayfield Hospital is looking for a part time Housekeeper to carry out housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, working 22.5 hours per week. Shifts will be 3 x 7.5 hour shifts during the week & 1 weekend shift per month (Saturday & Sunday)

This is a temporary fixed term position for up to 6 months

Duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital in line with the housekeeping and infection control policy
• Complete the cleaning schedules related to the shift, ensuring that rooms are ready for immediate occupation and public areas are clean
• Keep in close contact with the Senior Housekeeper and report any concerns regarding housekeeping issues immediately
• Work in close liaison with the clinical staff, understanding the special needs of the hospital on a day to day basis
• Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the equipment provided, checking for faults and supply shortages and reporting them to the line manager
• Compliance with all Health and Safety at Work regulations including COSHH
• Work with guidance on moving and handling, as identified in corporate and local policy and discussed at Mandatory training sessions
• Quality assurance and patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times
