Job summary

Augustinian Care is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support our two care homes near Burgess Hill. You will ensure hygienic cleaning to a high standard across bedrooms, en-suites and communal spaces, while working within a friendly team and following established guidelines.

Applicants should have some care home experience; full training is provided. A health and safety mindset, COSHH awareness, and evidence of right to work in the UK are required, with vaccination proof as part of our policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home preferred, with full training provided.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Infection Control and COSHH would be an advantage.
• All posts require a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references.
• COVID vaccination proof is currently required by the organisation.
• Must have current valid right to work in the UK.
• This role does not meet sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Keep the homes hygienically clean and maintained to a high standard.
• Ensure residents' bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and communal areas are thoroughly cleaned.
• Be part of a happy, welcoming team and contribute to a friendly atmosphere.
• Follow instructions and detailed guidelines as part of routine cleaning tasks.

The Role

Our Housekeeper role will see you supporting the team by ensuring that the Homes are kept hygienically clean and maintained at a high standard at all times.

The work can be intense and demanding and you will require compassion, patience and understanding, but the rewards and job satisfaction can be high.

You will be part of a happy, welcoming team all of whom contribute to the positive and friendly atmosphere of our Homes, ensuring our Residents bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and all communal areas around the Homes are thoroughly clean.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with some experience of working within a Care home environment however full training will be given if we think you demonstrate the right qualities at interview.

An understanding of Health & Safety, Infection Control and COSHH would be an advantage.

All posts are subject to a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references.

Although it is no longer a legal requirement for staff working within CQC regulated Care Homes for Older Adult Care in England to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, in the best interests of our staff and residents, we have decided to keep it a mandatory requirement to work for our organisation. Therefore, we will need proof of your COVID Vaccination pass.

You must have current valid right to work in the UK.

The Person

You should be able and willing to follow instructions and detailed guidelines and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.

It is essential that you can work within a team and also work unsupervised as needed.

If you can show thoroughness and attention to detail that would be an advantage.

If you have a basic understanding of using cleaning chemicals and handling and dealing with infection control situations within a challenging environment we would also welcome your application.
