Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position:

We are a patient-centred charity that delivers palliative and end-of-life care to those with advanced, life-limiting illnesses in Northwest Surrey. We care for patients and support families and carers both in the community and at our In-Patient Unit and Well Being Centre.

A successful Housekeeper will:

  1. Provide a comprehensive housekeeping service for Woking Hospice, its patients, visitors, Consultants, and staff in a professional and economical manner.
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Adhere to all infection control protocols and ensure waste is properly disposed of.
  4. Maintain patients' privacy and dignity at all times.
  5. Replenish disposable items such as paper towels and soap.
  6. Identify stock levels of cleaning materials and report to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Head of Health & Safety.
  7. Undertake general cleaning duties across the hospice and external buildings as directed.

A successful candidate will have:

  1. Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting.
  2. Ability to prioritize tasks.
  3. Confidence and self-motivation.
  4. A passionate commitment to the hospice.
  5. Teamwork skills and ability to build good relationships.
  6. Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Good knowledge of infection control.

Previous experience is advantageous but not essential.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975.
