Job summary

Tameside Council in Dukinfield is seeking a Housekeeper for a residential home for children and young people with disabilities. This permanent role involves contributing to a welcoming environment and a range of duties across cleaning, upkeep, and household tasks.

Hours are 18 per week, including early evening and weekend work with enhancements. Driving the home vehicle is required, and there are opportunities to develop skills; training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience running a home and ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Ability to handle cleaning, maintenance, driving, cooking, and shopping tasks.
• Willingness to work in a residential setting with children and young people.

Salary: Grade A. Scale 3 - £12,807 (actual salary)

The Role

We are looking for an individual to join the team as a Housekeeper, in a residental home for children and young people with disabilities.

You will contrubute to the development and smooth running of the home by creating a nice environment for the children to live.

Your duties will be varied include cleaning, maintenance, driving, cooking, shopping, food safety checks and general household tasks.

You will need to be a person who enjoys a challenge, be positive and flexible in your approach, enjoy being with children and young people and working as part of a busy team.

About You

We would like someone who likes a challenge and has experience of running a home.

We would like someone who can ensure the environment is well kept and welcoming.

There will be opportunities to develop your skills and some training provided.

We would like someone who can drive the homes vehicle, for shopping and collecting items for the home as required.
