Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Housekeeper to join the Hotel Services Team at Lanchester Road Hospital in Durham. This part-time role focuses on providing high-standards of cleaning and catering support to offices, patient areas and communal spaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for recovery.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or progress toward completion within timescale.
• Numeracy and literacy to level 2.
• IT knowledge to level 2.
• NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping desirable.
• Experience with cleaning materials and equipment.

Job description

Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery. The successful postholder will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement., We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Housekeeper (part time - 10.50 Hours) within the Trusts Hotel Services Team. The postholder will be based at Lanchester Road Hospital Durham , and will be required to work shifts Week 1 Monday 10.30-18.00 and Week 2 Monday and Saturday 7.00 am to 14.30, Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for further detailed information to ensure that you meet the role criteria before applying.

You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours. Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service. Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities setting is essential. Also, the ability to provide a positive approach and image, when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust. Candidates must possess Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or work towards successful completion in an agreed timescale. Essential are Numeracy, Literacy and IT level 2. • NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping is desirable. All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undertake further training and qualifications as deemed necessary to the position within agreed timescales.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (to be completed within 12 months)
• Numeracy and Literacy to level 2
• ITQ Level 2, Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
