Job summary

We are seeking a Relief Housekeeper to join the Mental Health & Learning Disability NHS Trust in the York area. Based at Huntington House, you will travel across Scarborough, Malton and York to provide cleaning and catering services, working 7.00 am to 8.00 pm, weekends and bank holidays.

Essential are experience in cleaning, COSHH knowledge, and Food Hygiene Level 2; health & safety and confidentiality are valued.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Food Hygiene Level 2 or progress towards completion within timescale.
• Numeracy, literacy and IT Level 2 required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping desirable.
• Experience with cleaning products and equipment essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning and catering services to offices, patients and communal areas.
• Work within the Hotel Services team to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Travel across Scarborough, Malton and York areas and cover shifts including weekends.

Job description

Relief Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery. You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.,

We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Relief Housekeeper within the York area as part of the Hotel Services Team. The post holder will be based at Huntington House and will be required to travel independently around the Scarborough, Malton & York area (not exclusive to these areas). The hours of work will be between 7.00 am-8.00 pm including weekends and bank holidays. You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours. Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service. Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities setting is essential. Also, the ability to provide a positive approach and image, when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust. Candidates must possess Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or work towards successful completion in an agreed timescale. Essential are; Numeracy, Literacy and IT level 2.
