Job summary

The Newt in Somerset is seeking a Housekeeper to support the launch of luxury residences at Yarlington. The role requires a driving license and is 30 hours across 4 days per week, including weekends. Up to £12.92 per hour, with access to excellent staff benefits and a vibrant team environment.

This position plays a key part in delivering impeccable standards, meticulous attention to detail, and warm, guest-focused service from day one as the estate opens to guests.

Qualifications

• High standards of personal presentation.
• Warm, friendly manner with a natural ability to engage with guests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and carry housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare guest bedrooms to an exceptional standard, including bed-making and linen changes.
• Thoroughly clean, sanitise and restock bathrooms, ensuring towels and amenities are refreshed.
• Vacuum, mop and maintain flooring to consistently high standards throughout the residences.
• Dust and clean furniture, touchpoints, staircases, corridors and guest circulation areas.
• Maintain shared/public areas, including unique spaces such as the cinema room.
• Keep connected outdoor areas tidy, clean and guest-ready.
• Report maintenance or housekeeping concerns promptly.
• Respond warmly and professionally to guest enquiries, supporting a seamless stay.

Our Housekeepers play a vital role in the launch of our brand-new luxury residences. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new chapter for The Newt, helping to set the tone, standards and guest experience from day one. You’ll ensure our beautifully restored Regency rectory and companion houses are maintained to an impeccable standard, creating comfort, serenity and a warm welcome the moment guests arrive. With exceptional quality, thoughtful presentation and meticulous attention to detail, you’ll help deliver the seamless, memorable stays that reflect The Newt’s signature warmth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
