McCarthy Stone is the leading UK’s retirement living provider. We are looking for a House Manager to join our team at Queens View in Bramhall.

The development offers modern retirement apartments exclusively for over 60s in a convenient location with easy access to local facilities.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We can be flexible around school hours.

About the Role of a House Manager

We are seeking a customer-centric House Manager to exemplify the high-quality customer standards we are renowned for. The key role of our House Manager is to enhance our Homeowners’ quality of life and enable them to maintain their independence. This diverse role encompasses high-level customer service, front of house, and facilities management. The successful candidate will build a strong community with our homeowners through event coordination and regular meetings to report company updates and address residents’ priorities.

Some of the House Manager duties include:

  1. Welcoming new Homeowners and supporting their settlement into their apartments.
  2. Providing professional front of house service and dealing with all visitors in a friendly manner.
  3. Being the first point of contact for all Homeowners, offering help, support, and advice as necessary.
  4. Collaborating with partners and suppliers to ensure the estate runs smoothly.
  5. Representing McCarthy Stone for the families and friends of Homeowners.
  6. Handling Homeowners issues with sensitivity, respecting privacy and confidentiality.
  7. Managing the development’s gardens and grounds to provide a safe, secure, well-maintained, and pleasant environment.
  8. Facilitating social interaction and helping Homeowners enjoy retirement living.
  9. Ensuring adherence to all Health and Safety requirements.

The successful candidate will have the following key competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive “can do” attitude.
  • Extensive experience in a professional customer service role.
  • A professional approach with high standards.
  • The ability to thrive in a busy, varied environment where each day is different.
  • Resilience and effective problem-solving skills.
  • An awareness of basic Health and Safety practices (advantageous).
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • First aid qualifications (an advantage), with training provided if needed.
