Childrens Ward at North Manchester General Hospital is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our team. This is a full-time position to support the department with housekeeping duties.

We are seeking a person with great communication and organizational skills who is keen to work with this group of people to ensure the smooth running of the Unit. The post holder will work as an integral part of the team to uphold high standards on the Unit.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the Unit services such as catering, cleaning, equipment, and supplies
  • Talking to and reassuring patients
  • Ordering non-clinical supplies
  • Keeping the Unit clean and tidy
  • Preparing snacks and drinks
  • Reporting faults and expiration dates of equipment

This role involves working closely with nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment. Responsibilities include maintaining medical equipment, ordering supplies, and assisting with patient feedback collection using tools like the What Matters To Me tracker and the Friend and Family Test. You will also support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, be empathetic towards patients, and able to work well under pressure.
