Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for two well-organised and self-motivated Sports Facilities Assistants to join the East Durham College Team on a casual, hourly-paid basis. As this is a casual role, hours may vary from 0+ per week.

Main Duties of the Role:

Join our busy Sports Centre, open to students and the public. The ideal candidate will be able to work weekend shifts and be flexible to work during weekdays if needed. Responsibilities include opening and locking up the building, maintaining facilities, delivering inductions and fitness classes, managing bookings, and providing reception duties such as phone handling and administrative tasks. Candidates should hold a minimum of a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, be qualified to lead fitness classes or be willing to work towards relevant qualifications, including first aid.

• Significant experience working in a sports centre environment
• Experience working within a team
• Knowledge and experience of using fitness equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
