Job summary

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill is seeking a proactive Shift Engineer to maintain hotel plant, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to guests.

You will respond to maintenance requests, support emergency procedures, and work with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience while keeping detailed maintenance records up to date.

Qualifications

• Proactive and reliable with engineering or maintenance experience.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to hotel plant, equipment, and building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest-related engineering issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Monitor and maintain the safe and efficient operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Assist in identifying and resolving faults, ensuring all equipment remains compliant with health and safety standards.
• Support emergency procedures, including fire alarm responses and lift entrapment situations in line with hotel procedures.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain the hotel's high standards and reduce equipment downtime.
• Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and support operational needs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any significant issues or repair requirements to the Engineering management team.
