Job summary

Avisford Park Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the property in top condition and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests and colleagues. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections, assisting the Maintenance Manager and team to uphold high standards throughout the hotel.

The role suits a hands-on individual with practical maintenance skills, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or facilities role, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and inspections across the hotel.
• Respond promptly to issues and carry out planned works under supervision.
• Support the Maintenance Manager and wider management team to meet legal and safety requirements.
