Job title: F&B Manager

Salary: Up to 37,000 GBP

Location: Aldeburgh, Suffolk

Accommodation provided: Yes, on an all-inclusive basis

Charge for accommodation: 75 GBP per week

Type of contract: Permanent

Workplace description: This refurbished in 2010 hotel has fabulous panoramic sea views which blend effortlessly with indulgence and informality. The emphasis is very much on flexibility and informality and the head chef uses fresh seasonal produce to create dishes which are simple and unadulterated yet bursting with flavour.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and the broader hotel operations, ensuring excellent customer service, staff management, and profitability. Here's a breakdown of a typical job description for this role:

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Manage daily operations of the restaurant and assist in hotel management tasks.
  • Ensure all services are delivered to the highest standard, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and guest services.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant and hotel areas.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally and resolve issues promptly.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise, train, and schedule restaurant and hotel staff, including waitstaff, kitchen staff, receptionists, and housekeepers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, mentor staff, and promote a positive working environment.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and staff training.
  • Ensure all staff follow company policies, health and safety regulations, and service standards.

Financial Management:

  • Manage budgets, control costs, and monitor financial performance of the restaurant and hotel operations.
  • Maximize revenue through efficient service and promotional initiatives.
  • Assist in managing payroll, inventory, and supplier relationships.
  • Review and analyze financial reports and suggest improvements.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Assist with marketing strategies to promote the restaurant and hotel.
  • Collaborate with the sales and events teams to organize special events or functions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to encourage repeat business.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry (restaurant or hotel management).
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
  • Knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
  • A degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field is advantageous.
