Job summary

Champneys Head Office is seeking a part-time Hotel Accountant to support the Group Financial Controller and Hotel General Manager, ensuring accurate financial data for the hotel and strict adherence to operational controls.

You will manage income and expenditure, oversee Sales, Purchase, and Guest Ledgers, handle daily reconciliations and reporting, and assist in the preparation of management accounts over a 30-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance function is essential, hospitality preferred.
• AAT/HOSPA qualification or similar is desirable.
• Strong admin and IT skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to drive process improvements and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Daily cash and card reconciliations, bank reconciliation and monthly balance sheet
• Assisting with customer queries, dealing with chargebacks
• Sales Ledger – raising invoices and chasing payments
• Guest Ledger – management of house accounts and open folios

• Ensuring operational controls are implemented within the hotel

Hotel Accountant

Champneys Head Office

Contract: Part Time
Salary: £24,000 per annum

30 hours per week

The purpose of the role is to provide support to Group Financial Controller and Hotel General Manager, providing accurate financial data of all income and expenditure of the hotel, ensuring all operational controls are implemented and adhered to, covering all aspects of sales and purchase ledger duties, assisting in management accounts preparation.

Some responsibilities include:

• Daily business audit and reporting
• Daily cash and c/c reconciliations, bank reconciliation and completion of monthly balance sheet
• Assisting with customer queries, dealing with chargebacks
• Sales Ledger – raising invoices and chasing payments
• Guest Ledger – management of house accounts and open folios
• Purchase Ledger – weekly food invoices upload
• Ensuring that all operational controls are implemented within the hotel

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience working within a finance function is essential, preferably from hospitality sector
• Ideally AAT, HOSPA qualified or similar
• Strong administration & IT skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to drive process improvements and enhance operational efficiency
