Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Darlington, UK, is seeking a Hosted Finance Placement Student to join our Finance team for a 12-month placement commencing Summer 2027. You will support month-end close, develop reports and dashboards, and participate in continuous improvement projects across finance functions.

The role offers exposure to a global organization, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and opportunities to learn and apply financial controls and reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject.
• Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel and Microsoft.
• Willingness to challenge the norm and continuously seek improvements.
• Competent in using collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities: journal prep, reconciliations, reporting; assist with financial analysis and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and data analysis tools using Excel and Power BI.
• Assist with automation and standardisation of finance processes; prepare presentations and financial summaries for reviews.
• Participate in business projects and gain exposure to different areas of finance; maintain accurate records and ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with other placement students on community engagement and cross-functional projects.
• Take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
