Qualifications

  • Experience in B&I contract catering or hotels with banqueting.

Job description

Vacherin are committed to delivering deliciously different experiences, having fun, and conducting business with a social and environmental conscience. We are excited to be recruiting for a Hospitality and Retail Head Chef to work with us at a wonderful B&I site currently going through a huge refurbishment.

About the site: This B&I site provides lunch for 400-550 people every day. We provide hospitality events four times weekly with a host of evening events for up to 350pax several times throughout the week.

Location: EC2V 7QP
Rate of pay: £48,000 per annum + 1.5 overtime
Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week - 7am to 3.30pm


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the head chef will manage a team of Sous Chefs, Chef De Parties, Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters of 10-12 people
  2. To prepare and oversee all preparation of food to the highest standard
  3. To produce food in a timely fashion to ensure smooth service to the customers
  4. To ensure that all appropriate ingredients are available for the menus
  5. To develop and plan menus that are in line with client and customer expectations
  6. To be creative when menu planning and including the client and customers
  7. Pride yourself on food quality and hygiene standard
  8. Overall responsibility for managing the kitchen team
  9. Provide feedback and coaching on performance
  10. To ensure that the kitchen team have completed up to date COSHH and Food Hygiene training

Our Ideal Candidate:
  1. We are looking for an ambitious and experienced head chef who has worked within B&I contract catering or hotels with banqueting
  2. Will have great communication skills
  3. Strong leadership ability
  4. Passion for creating innovative retail and hospitality offerings on site
