Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Porter & Security Officer for Poole Hospital to provide a 24/7 service across wards and departments. You will transport patients, move equipment and assist with safe disposal of waste in a busy hospital setting.

Providing security and safety support, you will respond to incidents and maintain a clean, safe environment. A driving licence is required and GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above are expected.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (A-C) required.
• Experience as a Porter or in caretaking within a hospital.
• Ability to work flexibly across rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from locations within the hospital.
• Respectful removal of the deceased to the Mortuary and related entries.
• Regularly replace gas cylinders and monitor safety.
• Collect Pharmacy boxes from wards for restocking.
• Respond to alarm activations and security incidents.
