Job summary

DSFS Ltd, the Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services arm of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is hiring a full-time Porter at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role covers a 37.5 hour week with a 16-hour shift pattern across 7 days, supporting patient transport, ward transfers, and waste logistics.

Ideal candidates will have GCSE Maths and English, hospital experience, multi-tasking ability, computer skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Experience in a hospital environment preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work flexibly.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients and visitors around the hospital.
• Transport patients to appointments and between wards.
• Transfer deceased patients and manage transfers to the mortuary.
• Clean waste equipment and storage areas; collect soiled linen.
• Collect and deliver stores, gases, laundry and medical notes.
• Collect and deliver blood products from Pathology.
