Job summary

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician (Band 4) for a rotational, permanent position at 37.5 hours. The post involves dispensing, accuracy checking and ward-level medicines optimisation with opportunities to supervise trainees.

Applicants should be registered with the GPhC and hold Level 3 BTEC / NVQ Pharmacy Services or equivalent. Flexibility for early evenings, weekends and bank holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with post-qualification experience.
• Hold Level 3 BTEC / NVQ Pharmacy Services certificate or equivalent.
• Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing and accuracy checking for in-patients, outpatients and discharge.
• Provide patient counselling and medicines optimisation at ward level.
• Assess patients’ own medicines at the bedside and process discharge prescriptions.
• Co-operate with pharmaceutical staff to develop dispensing and medicines distribution services.
• Supervise pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.
