Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Nuneaton is seeking a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician (or eligible) to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role involves dispensing prescriptions, assisting with medicines management, and supporting ward-based pharmacists in discharge processes.

The post is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) with rotational late-night, weekend and bank holiday working. A strong team and opportunities for CPD are on offer.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in pharmaceutical science or related field.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or eligible to register.

Responsibilities

• To carry out dispensing of prescriptions both TTOs and inpatient/OSD supplies, including extemporaneous prescriptions, unlicensed drugs, controlled drugs, in-patient and outpatient prescriptions.
• To contribute to the final accuracy checking of dispensary work on a rotational basis and monitor workflow.
• To co-operate in staff rotation within the pharmacy departments of the trust, ward-based working and outpatient areas.
• To assist with medicines management on wards to provide medicines reconciliation and drug histories.
• To assist with the discharge of patients and provide support to ward pharmacists with TTO preparation using in-house discharge systems.
