Job summary

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group in Poole is seeking a Pharmacy Support Assistant to manage ward stock, audit levels, and re-stock ward cupboards. You will receive goods from delivery drivers and ensure correct storage and processing in the computer system.

The role requires careful attention to detail, physical fitness for lifting boxes, and a proactive approach to stock control, with participation in team meetings, training, and adherence to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 GCSEs to grade C in English, Maths and Science
Experience of working in Hospital Pharmacy environment
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Science
Desirable: Experience dealing with members of the public in a service capacity

Responsibilities

To conduct ward stock top-ups and audit stock levels
To participate in ward stock control and inform staff of stock concerns on wards
To return/remove items not required in clinical areas and organise them for recycling or return to stock under direction
To receive goods from delivery drivers and store/process orders via the computer system
To perform scheduled stock sweeps and expiry date checks in clinical areas
To assist in filing, storage, and stock rotation within the MDU and Dispensary
To support housekeeping duties of the MDU and Dispensary
To work methodically in all dispensary areas ensuring requests are prioritised
To attend and contribute to Pharmacy staff meetings and team meetings
To support appraisal processes and complete training and Personal Development Plans
To maintain health and safety for self and others and uphold confidentiality
