Job summary

Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, part of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the hospital pharmacy team with stock picking, dispensing support and delivering medicines to wards.

You will staff the dispensary reception, handle queries, assist with sterile preparation and replenishing emergency stock. Full-time and part-time hours are available, with weekend and bank holiday rota work.

Qualifications

Experience of working as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to produce work to standard.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Experience in a customer service or patient care setting.
Experience using different computer software.

Responsibilities

Picking, packing and assembling medicines for stock distribution.
Receiving and processing pharmacy stores orders.
Staffing dispensary reception, speaking to staff and patients and handling queries.
Supplying medicines to wards and departments by top-up.
Delivering medication to wards and departments.
Picking intravenous fluids.
Carrying out duties within sterile preparation suites.
Replenishing specialist emergency boxes.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary pharmacy team.
Participating in weekend and bank holiday rotas.
