Job summary

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Craftsperson to join the Estates team on a permanent basis. You will perform reactive, emergency and routine maintenance on hospital infrastructure, ensuring safe operations for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will be time served with NVQ III or City & Guild Level 3 in Plumbing or engineering, hold a full UK driving licence, and have experience with mechanical/plumbing systems in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or NVQ III/City & Guild Level 3 in Plumbing or engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience with mechanical or plumbing systems in healthcare settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and emergency repairs to building infrastructure.
• Liaise with Planning and Scheduling Manager and Estates Officer for materials.
• Construct, assemble, erect and install minor works to upgrade and alter services.
• Ensure safe environment for patients, staff and visitors; move equipment as needed.
• Work in operating theatres, mortuaries, laboratories or clinical areas with policy adherence.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and environmental regulations while working in clinical environments.
• Be available for outside normal hours on-call rota.
• Have extensive knowledge of mechanical and/or plumbing systems.
