Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Kitchen Porter at Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. You’ll support our chefs, keep the kitchen clean, and help ensure every dish is prepared to high standards on a 38.5-hour week with 4 nights on 4 nights off.

This role requires reliability, good communication, and a practical approach to health and safety. You’ll receive uniform, access to Blue Light Card and Sodexo Benefits, plus 20 days holiday pro rata.

Responsibilities

• Carry out kitchen porter duties in line with schedules and supervisor instructions.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) legislation and standard.
• Take responsibility for personal and team health & safety, ensuring no risk to others.
• Deliver ad hoc food and equipment items to wards and clinical areas.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to support catering service delivery.
• Complete daily records and documentation accurately and on time.
• Move food trolleys and equipment safely, following procedures and escalation routes.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, infection control, and ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and operational.
