Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Cook to join the Catering Team at Warrington Hospital. The role involves preparing and serving meals for patients, adhering to food safety and allergen regulations, and supporting a busy kitchen on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, 35 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of £25,272 per annum. Training and development are available within a caring NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of bulk cooking.
• Experience in large scale catering.
• Minimum 2 years experience.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily with patients, nursing staff and colleagues.
• Receive deliveries and manage dietary requests.
• Liaise with Manager and Supervisors daily.
• Assist new starters by shadowing tasks.
• Participate in mandatory training.
• Ensure patients receive any special diets.
• Prepare buffets or hospitality requests.
• Maintain high food safety standards and HACCP compliance.
• Prepare and cook patient meals following standard recipes and allergen legislation.
