Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at Aldeburgh Community Hospital to prepare meals aligned with planned menus and standard recipes. You will manage a kitchen section, ensuring quality, hygiene and timely service for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook in a healthcare setting or similar environment.
• Formal catering qualifications and food-hygiene certifications required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes from planned menus using standardised recipes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Monitor portion control, stock rotation, temperatures and deliveries.
• Assist with serving meals to patients, staff and visitors.
• Keep accurate temperature, probe-monitoring and stock records.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and report faults or pests.
• Communicate with ward teams and colleagues to ensure smooth service.
• Support training of colleagues and maintain a positive team environment.
• Follow food safety, COSHH and health & safety procedures.
• Flexibly work across Patient Dining and cover when needed.
