Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a cook for hospital meals and patient diets. You will prepare and cook meals for the restaurant and in-patient diets, ensuring food safety and quality across high-volume services.

You will also assist with general restaurant duties and help with special events. HACCP documentation must be maintained, and strict safety practices followed in a busy healthcare kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Food Safety Management.
• City & Guilds 706/1 or NVQ 3 equivalent.
• Health & Safety Certificate required.
• Full COSHH awareness required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high quality food for the restaurant and in-patient diets.
• Assist with food service in the restaurant as needed.
• Prepare foods for Trust Hospitality and other events.
• Complete HACCP documentation for storage, preparation and presentation.

Education
