Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a General Services Assistant for Camborne Redruth Community Hospital to maintain high cleanliness and infection prevention standards. The post requires flexibility to work across 06:00–20:00 hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

Training will be provided, and you will work within a supportive GSA team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Experience in cleaning, housekeeping or a similar role is essential.
Training and support will be provided.
Good basic education, positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

Carry out daily cleaning duties in line with Trust cleaning standards and procedures.
Ensure wards, departments, sanitary areas, offices and communal spaces are kept clean and hygienic.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Receive and check cleaning supplies and other deliveries, reporting discrepancies.
Assist with stock control and monitor usage, reporting low stock levels as needed.
Manage keys, cleaning equipment and resources during shifts.
Report maintenance issues, equipment faults and safety concerns promptly.
Adhere to Health and Safety legislation, COSHH and Trust policies.
