Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Electrical Technician to undertake skilled planned and reactive electrical maintenance across OUH sites. You will work on LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces, IPS/UPS, standby generation and BMS/control systems.

You will also support nurse call and clinical communication systems, maintain CAFM records, coordinate with contractors, and contribute to planned isolations, shutdowns and emergency

Qualifications

• Nurse Call Systems knowledge and maintenance.
• CAFM / Asset Data Management experience.
• Surveys, inspection and technical assurance activities.
• Demonstrated specific skills and abilities relevant to electrical maintenance.
• Adherence to values and behaviours in clinical environments.
• Understanding of physical working environments and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain LV distribution, small power and lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces, IPS/UPS, standby generation, and BMS/control systems.
• Support maintenance of nurse call and clinical communication systems, including fault diagnosis and verification.
• Maintain CAFM records and asset information; support asset verification and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate with contractors, schedule planned isolations and service interruptions with minimal disruption to patient care.
• Participate in out-of-hours and emergency-response arrangements.
