Job summary

Mitie Group plc. seeks a Multi-Skilled Technician (Elec) to support M&E maintenance across Newcastle hospital sites, including Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital.

The role covers preventive maintenance, testing of emergency lighting and electrical systems, and supervising subcontractors, with shift pattern 7am–3pm and 2pm–10pm. Applicants should have experience with LV, lighting, fire alarms, nurse calls and ventilation, plus strongHealth & Safety knowledge; training and benefits are

Qualifications

• Electrical/multi-disciplined maintenance experience including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse call, DHW, LTHW and ventilation.
• Good interpersonal skills with awareness of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day planned maintenance of M&E to contract standards.
• Maintain plant and equipment per O&M manuals and guidelines.
• Respond to reactive calls within contract times and document work.
• Test emergency lighting (BS EN 5266), fixed wiring (BS EN 7671) and lightning protection (BS EN 62305).
• Supervise subcontractors, perform isolations, and follow SSOW and procedures.
