Job summary

Medirest in a hospital setting is seeking a Domestic Assistant to contribute to infection control and maintain cleanliness for patients, visitors and staff. You will help keep wards, toilets and common areas safe and presentable.

The role offers 13.5 hours per week at £12.92 per hour with Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons shifts. No previous experience is required; training and DBS clearance are provided to support a compassionate, patient-focused team.

Qualifications

• No prior Domestic Assistant experience required; willingness to learn is valued.
• Good communication with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Able to work under pressure as part of a flexible team.

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting, mopping, wiping and scrubbing surfaces.
• Cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected and public areas.
• Ensure rubbish bins are maintained and removed when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards by keeping areas clean, presentable and safe by following policies.
• Use equipment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Passionate about patient care and able to communicate with patients, visitors and staff.
• Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach.
• Confident in hospital environment and aware of unwell patients or distress.
