Job summary

Medirest is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join our hospital cleaning team in Lancashire. The role supports infection control and patient care by maintaining high cleanliness standards across wards, toilets, and public areas.

You will work mornings, 15 hours per week, with DBS clearance required. No previous experience is necessary; a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for patients is valued. The DBS check is funded by the employer and you will follow Health & Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting, mopping, wiping and scrubbing surfaces.
• Cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected and public areas.
• Ensure rubbish bins are maintained and removed when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards by keeping areas clean, presentable and safe per policies.
• Use equipment in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
• Passionate about patient care and able to communicate with patients, visitors and staff.
• Work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach.
• Confident in hospital environment and aware of unwell patients.
