Job summary

The bank chef de partie post sits in the hospital catering team at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, covering the kitchen and staff restaurant on a bank-only basis. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals for patient services and staff and visitor dining, while supporting and supervising kitchen colleagues and upholding strict food safety standards.

We seek a qualified chef used to fast, high-volume environments, with a recognised qualification (7061/2 or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Recognised chef qualification (7061/2 or equivalent).
• Mandatory professional or clinical registration, where the role requires it.
• Experience working in a busy kitchen or catering operation.
• Strong teamwork, communication and leadership skills.
• A good standard of written English appropriate to the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Support and supervise kitchen team members.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Work calmly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
