Job summary

Sanctuary Students is recruiting a General Assistant (Cleaner) to join the onsite accommodation team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

Daily duties include cleaning bedrooms, kitchens, routes and communal areas, with housekeeping and bed making within patient and relative accommodation. The role is 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with occasional weekend work on a voluntary basis, temporary for 12 months.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.
• Practical experience in operating cleaning machinery.
• Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workloads and work on own initiative.
• Experience of understanding simple verbal and written instructions and undertaking duties as requested.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing high quality cleaning services for bedrooms, kitchens, pathways, and communal areas.
• Identifying and reporting hazards and faults to ensure a safe environment is maintained.
• Organising stores on site and carrying out checks of equipment, replacing when necessary.
• Any other general tasks as required by management.
