Job summary

Prospect Hospice in Swindon seeks a compassionate Psychotherapist to join the Family Support Team on an 8-hour-per-week, flexible basis. You will provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and 1:1 intervention for patients and families facing complex emotional distress related to illness, trauma and loss.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, offering psychological input to care planning, supervision, and staff support, and help develop psycho-spiritual services across the hospice.

Qualifications

• Experience in psychotherapy and counselling.
• Ability to assess complex emotional distress in patients and families.
• Capability to provide supervision and reflective practice for staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and 1:1 intervention for patients and families experiencing complex emotional and psychological distress.
• Contribute psychological expertise to discussions and care planning; provide consultation, supervision and training to staff and volunteers; lead reflective practice and staff support where appropriate.
• Contribute to development, evaluation and continuous improvement of psycho-spiritual services across the hospice.
