Job summary

St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our 37.5-hour week, full-time team. You will work in a 24/7 service with day and night shifts, delivering personalised care with compassion and respect to patients and families.

The role requires care experience and good communication; a Care Certificate, NVQ, or hospice setting exposure is encouraged. DBS checks apply and UK work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient-focused care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Understand health and safety procedures and work with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, individualised patient care as part of an integrated team.
• Assist with personal hygiene routines and daily living tasks.
• Take and record clinical observations and report significant changes.
• Create a welcoming, safe environment sensitive to patients’ needs and families.
