Job summary

The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract is seeking an Estates and Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of hard and soft FM services across the Hospice and ten retail sites. You will manage maintenance programmes, ensure compliance, and drive safety and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Director of Estates & Facilities, you will lead a small team, oversee contractors, support capital projects, and promote high-quality service delivery across multiple sites in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Estates Management or Facilities Management or significant equivalent experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
• Experience managing estates, facilities or engineering services.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and health & safety requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes across multiple sites.
• Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across all sites.
• Leading housekeeping, waste and environmental services.
• Managing contractors, suppliers and service contracts.
• Supporting capital projects and estates developments.
• Promoting a strong culture of health, safety and continuous improvement.
• Acting as Authorised Person (Water) and supporting water safety compliance.
