Job summary

Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh is seeking a skilled Chef to join our catering team on a fixed-term contract until August 2027. You will work as an active and flexible member of the team to ensure the smooth running of the Catering Department.

In this rewarding role you will prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors, while upholding food safety, hygiene and presentation standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 or 706/2, or Level 2 NVQ in Food Production and Cooking.
• Basic food hygiene certificate.
• Relevant catering experience.
• Experience supervising staff in the absence of head chef.
• High levels of Health and Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
• Uphold standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Assist Head Chef in supervising Catering Assistants and staff rotas.
