Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a major construction project in Horsham on a freelance basis. You will oversee day-to-day management, coordinating with the Commercial Team, subcontractors and site management to deliver safely, on programme and to budget.

The role requires proven PM experience on major projects, strong commercial awareness, and robust leadership and communication skills. SMSTS/CSCS and First Aid are desirable/required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager on major projects.
• Strong commercial awareness including costs, variations and change control.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site management.
• Track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site activities from mobilisation through to completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress, productivity and site performance.
• Assist with programme planning, sequencing and resource allocation.
• Attend progress, coordination and client meetings.
• Maintain accurate site records and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Contract: Freelance

Duration: 1 Year +

Rate: £350 - £400 dependant on experience

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major construction project on a freelance basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and commercially aware Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex construction projects safely, efficiently and to programme.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, working closely with the Commercial Team, subcontractors and wider site management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site activities from mobilisation through to completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress, productivity and site performance.
• Work closely with the commercial team to identify and manage variations, change and potential commercial risks.
• Assist with programme planning, sequencing and resource allocation.
• Attend progress, coordination and client meetings.

• Manage quality assurance and ensure defects are identified and resolved promptly.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and hold teams accountable for delivery.

• Liaise effectively with the client, consultants, designers and supply chain.
• Provide strong leadership and drive a positive, collaborative site culture.

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on major projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs, variations and change control.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site management.
• A strong track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to a high standard.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant construction qualifications, with SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid desirable/required.
• A proactive, professional approach with the confidence to make decisions and challenge where necessary.
